G2 edged Selfless in the second best-of-two of week two, day one at ELEAGUE, winning 16-12 on both Cache and Cobblestone. The first map of the second encounter in the round robin of Group B was Cache, where G2 started off the better due to Cédric "RpK" Guipouy and Richard "shox" Papillon combining for five kills in the pistol round, on T side. After they got to a 3-0 lead, the rounds kept going back and forth, as Michael "MAiNLiNE" Jaber got a triple to his name in the first gunround, Alexandre "bodyy" Pianaro broke Selfless' economy with a 1v2 in the following, but the North American team managed to win the forcebuy.
ScreaM's 1v3 then stopped the shenanigans, as G2 picked up three rounds in a row. Skyler "Relyks" Weaver continued with a great performance with a quad-kill for 8-5 in his opponents' favor, but another 1v2 from bodyy ended the half at 10-5. shox then put down Selfless with a crazy all-headshot ace in the second pistol round, helping the team get to 13-5 after a couple of tough rounds versus underwhelming buys. After the teams split the following four rounds evenly, it looked as if G2 would be able to close map one quickly, but it wasn't quite the case. Mitch "mitch" Semago, MAiNLiNE and Relyks all had rounds of great individual play, taking map one to 15-12 with five rounds in a row, but that was all she wrote as G2 eventually took the round they needed for their first point. The second map was set to be Cobblestone, and that time around it was Selfless to get to a flying 3-0 start despite a scary forcebuy from G2. After they kept three SMGs, Noah "Nifty" Francis pushed it to 5-0 with a 1v3 holding a sniper rifle. G2 then got their first round on the board, but quickly found themselves without money after a triple from Relyks. A similar situation occured right afterwards, as the teams split the following two rounds, but a successful forcebuy from G2, featuring a MAG-7 and famases, stopped Selfless' domination. A couple of easy rounds followed, shox put in a few crucial frags and also finished off the half with a triple for their seventh round. A pistol round going their way made sure the streak stayed alive. That was eventually extended to 10 rounds after G2 put enough together to take the first gunround as well. Selfless won one on their CT side, but their economy was broken right afterwards, which saw them being down 9-14. A couple of great rounds from Relyks and Nifty on B weren't enough to keep G2 at bay, as the French-Belgian squad picked up another point at 16-12. ELEAGUE Season 1Best of 1
